Tax Receipts That Give Back
So you think all receipt strategies are the same? Think again. Memphis Union Mission had begun to see their receipt mailing as more a function of accounting than fundraising. In an effort to streamline the process the forms had gotten smaller and the messages were less personal. So Brewer Direct was asked to review and make recommendations.
It didn't take long to see that the Mission's receipt strategy needed a more personal touch. We drafted more personal thank you notes and encouraged their regular use. But the biggest change was the receipt form itself. We went back to a long, three-part form, added a place for photos and Mission Updates, changed the outer envelope to be more-friendly and added a communication link to the back of the form.
Simple? Yes, and No. The design came after the strategy and the strategy came from understanding, brainstorming and clarifying the purpose. It made a difference. The Mission is receiving compliments on its new form and response to the format is going up. That's the bottom line. Creativity is more than design. Click here to learn more.
